Aloe Vera For Hair
|
Aloe vera is being used for over 2000 years for its medical and
cosmetic application. Using aloe vera for hair will give you many
benefits and it’s a treatment you should try.
Aloe vera is not used only in medical purposes as anti-inflammatory
and anti-irritation, but has also a few cosmetic applications. It has
been successfully used in treating hair problems so if your hair is
damaged you should try an aloe vera treatment for hair to make it
healthier again. Let’s see further how exactly does this work and
what benefits does it actually have.
Sebum reduction: Sebum is an oily substance released by the
sebaceous glands in the skin. This is the main cause for a greasy
hair and even though it can be washed- off the effect is just
temporary. The sebum secretion can only be reduced by using a proper
treatment and aloe vera has proven to be very effective. An excessive
production of sebum leads to a skin disease known as seborrheic
dermatitis. This will make your skin reddish and itching and will
eventually lead to hair loss. To prevent this from happening you can
make your own aloe vera shampoo using some soap, vegetable oil,
glycerin and, of course, gel extracted from the aloe vera plant.
Dandruff: Dandruff is a common problem, usually caused
either by the sebaceous secretions or by the exposure to extreme heat
or cold and it leads to having an itching, flaky scalp. Using a
homemade aloe vera shampoo together with a homemade conditioner you
can get rid of dandruff without spending your money on expensive
products you don’t even know they work. You can make the conditioner
from the juice of one lemon, half of cup of aloe vera gel and some
essential oils.
Hair loss prevention: While it doesn’t help too much in
growing new hair, if you’re already bold, the aloe vera can be used in
preventing hair loss, especially if you have other cases in your
family. Why treat something when you can prevent it? Aloe vera keeps
the blood flow to a normal level which helps the hair grow strong,
maintains the level of pH, cleans the pores and renews the cycle
within the follicles. It also provides all the necessary minerals and
vitamins, like A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C and E, which are essential for a
healthy hair.
